There are many ways to celebrate Christmas whilst visiting London, but none is more enjoyable than an evening out at the theatre.

White Christmas

Most people will automatically think of the song when White Christmas is mentioned especially the version that was sung by Bing Crosby. But it’s not just the song that makes Irving Berlin’s musical of the same name so magical. Whilst many people will choose to watch the film of the musical over Christmas, those that live in London or are visiting have the opportunity to see this festive feast brought to life at the Dominion Theatre. It is also the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night out with an escort.

Christmas Ballet

If you prefer to spend your evening out at the ballet instead of musical theatre then there are a number of different ballets on over the festive period from The Nutcracker at the London Coliseum and The Wind in the Willows at the Royal Opera House.

A Christmas Carol

There is also another option in the theatre for those who want an evening out with a seasonal feel; Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is being performed at the Southbank Centre with actor Griff Rhys Jones providing the narration. To add an element of glamour to the evening you can be accompanied to the theatre with an escort, especially when there is a production of Shakespeare in Love being performed at the Noel Coward Theatre.

Christmas with the Stars

The Royal Albert Hall is a venue that has the gravitas that is perfect for the annual event, Christmas with the Stars; an evening of celebrities performing Christmas carols and other festive tunes taking place on 9th December this year. There is also the BT Christmas Concert taking place on 15th December as well as the CLIC Sargent Christmas Celebration, Carols by Candlelight, Christmas Carol Singalong, Messiah, Jingle Bell Christmas, Christmas Classics, Red: A Christmas Cabaret starring Miss Polly Rae, the King’s College Choir and John Rutter’s Christmas Celebration Matinee.
